PRODUCT
What types of diamonds or gold do you use?
At Politains, we are committed to using only pure 18-carat gold, excluding any plated gold, silver, or vermeil. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted with the highest quality gems to ensure the excellence you deserve. Furthermore, we ensure that all our raw materials are conflict-free.
In our fine jewellery selection, every diamond is chosen with meticulous attention. Our specialty lies in the use of natural diamonds. For custom creations and diamonds over 0.3 carats, we directly involve the client in selecting the diamond, focusing on certified stones, to perfectly meet your preferences and requirements.
Which coloured stones?
We select only colored stones with intense and brilliant hues, of very high quality. You will be involved in the choice and selection of the stone. It will also be certified by an independent and renowned gemmology laboratory to ensure its quality.
What is the difference between solid gold and gold-plated?
For gold-plated items, the main difference lies in the metal composition: while solid gold jewellery is made from an alloy of gold consistent throughout the piece, gold-plated items are made of a non-gold metal simply covered with a thin layer of gold. This is why solid gold is said to be made to last forever:
It scratches less
Does not wear out easily
Does not oxidize or discolour
Will always retain its value.
How do I take care of my products?
Soaking is the key: soak your gold jewellery for 3 hours in a non-abrasive jewellery cleaner, then gently rub them with a very soft brush. Rinse with clean water and dry with a cloth. For extra shine, use a jewellery polishing cloth afterwards!
Store your gold jewellery separately. It's important to ensure that your gold jewellery pieces do not touch any other jewellery when stored. As gold is a soft metal, it can easily scratch or deform if it comes into contact with other pieces of jewellery. If you don't have enough space to store each piece separately, try wrapping each piece in a soft cloth. If possible, hang gold chains. This prevents them from getting tangled; trying to untangle gold chains can easily break them.
Is it appropriate to wear my jewellery while showering?
Indeed, water doesn't harm the metal, but it can impact the sparkle of gemstones, depending on their type. If your jewellery includes gemstones, it's advisable to take them off.
Refrain from wearing your jewellery while in the pool, as chlorine and other chemicals can cause discoloration in the gold.
